Dog Yarn Garments

Like I mentionned in a previous post, I recently bought a husky puppy. And as it is spring time around here, my dog started blowing his coat. A husky has two layers of fur, the undercoat (which keeps him warm) and the guard hairs (which cover the body and keeps dirt from getting to the undercoat itself). When a dog blows its coat, the dead hairs from the undercoat come out... and there is tons of them.. and my dog is still a puppy! I don't want to think about the amount of hair he is going to loose when he gets his full size!

Here's a picture to give you an idea of how much loose hair we're talking about:

While doing some research about the blowing of the coat, I found out that some people gather all the loose hair and spin it into yarn and make stuff out of it! I tought the idea was pretty cool... so I started to gather my dog's hair in the hopes to make something out of it.

Here are a few pictures from the article I read:

I don't think I would wear my dog's ''yarn'', but I like the idea of making a blanket out of it... I will still have to gather hair for quite a while anyways.. So I have plenty of time to think it over! You can read the whole article through here.

Still dog related, I saw these today:

Chow chows dyed to look like pandas...SO. INCREDIBLY. CUTE. I know pet dyeing surely isn't that safe... but aren't they just awesome?!
